The LCTS Industrial Communication Cable Measurement System is a modular automatic test system developed by the Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI) for testing industrial communication, signal transmission, and control cables. It supports cable sizes from 0.4 mm to 2.5 mm and complies with international standards such as IEC, ITU, and EN.

Key Features

  • Modular design with integrated Resistance, Capacitance, LCR, and Network Analyzer modules.
  • Automatic measurement of electrical and transmission parameters.
  • Supports testing of 4-pair industrial communication cables.
  • User-defined test standards and automatic pass/fail evaluation.
  • Automatic correction for cable length and temperature.
  • Stores, displays, prints, and uploads test reports over a LAN.
  • Provides statistical analysis including maximum, minimum, and average values.

Measurement Capabilities

The system measures conductor resistance, mutual capacitance, inductance, capacitance unbalance, attenuation, impedance, phase angle, and crosstalk. It supports measurements over frequencies ranging from DC to 30 MHz, depending on the parameter being tested.

Typical Measurement Performance

  • Resistance: 0.2–10,000 Ω (±0.2% accuracy)
  • Mutual Capacitance: 0.1–200 nF
  • Inductance: 1 μH–1000 H
  • Capacitance Unbalance: Up to ±5000 pF
  • Attenuation: Up to 80 dB
  • Impedance: 80–2000 Ω
  • Phase Angle: −60° to −30°
