The system automatically measures key electrical characteristics of communication cables, including conductor resistance, mutual capacitance, capacitance unbalance (pair-to-ground and pair-to-pair), attenuation (insertion loss), crosstalk, and characteristic impedance. These measurements provide a comprehensive evaluation of cable quality and transmission performance.
The CTS-UE system offers high measurement accuracy, with resistance measurements from 0.2 Ω to 10,000 Ω, mutual capacitance measurements from 0.1 nF to 200 nF, and capacitance unbalance measurements up to ±5000 pF. It also measures attenuation, crosstalk, and characteristic impedance across the 100 kHz to 4 MHz frequency range, making it suitable for testing a wide variety of communication cables.
