CTS-BAL Unbalanced to Balanced Impedance Matching Transformer

The CTS-BAL Unbalanced to Balanced Impedance Matching Transformer is an economical solution developed by the Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI) for testing communication cables. It converts 50 Ω unbalanced interfaces to various balanced impedances, enabling accurate electrical measurements on symmetrical communication cables. The system supports both manual testing and semi-automatic testing using optional SECRI software, which can generate comprehensive test reports.

The CTS-BAL series is available in multiple models to support different impedance ratios and frequency ranges. The supported impedance conversions include 50:77 Ω, 50:100 Ω, 50:120 Ω, 50:135 Ω, and 50:150 Ω, with operating frequency ranges from 30 kHz to 650 MHz, depending on the model.

The transformer supports measurement of several important cable transmission parameters, including Return Loss, Characteristic Impedance (using both Open/Short and Matched methods), Insertion Loss (Attenuation), Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT), and Far-End Crosstalk (FEXT). Some measurements require the user to perform near-end and far-end impedance matching before testing.

The CTS-BAL series provides a cost-effective solution for laboratory testing, cable manufacturing, and quality assurance applications where balanced communication cable parameters must be measured accurately.
